7/29/16 – 7/30/16 Training – Long Chipper + Sprints

7/29/16 – PM Training: A. Free HS Practice – 10 minutes + B. Strict Muscle Ups – accumulated 15 perfect reps not for time + For Time: 20 C/J – 225# 10 RC – 17′ 30 Strict HSPU’s – 3″ Row 1K 50 GHD’s 200 Double Unders ~25′. This was hard. 7/27/16 – PM Training – Clean Grip DL & Row/DU

A. EMOM x 10: 3 tng PS -135#. Just working on breathing and BB cycling. B. Clean Grip DL: Build to a max. Hit 325. I’d say that was my max today. Didn’t feel that strong. For time: 50-40-30-20-10 Row – Calories Double Unders 8:19, tripped once on last rep of the 20. I raced a few buddies on this today and I dug pretty deep. Took me 30 minutes to get off my back. Felt like a 2k a 1K & a 60 sec max call rolled into one. hahaha I was trashed. But I won. so worth...

7/25/16 – AM Training – Back Squat 1RM + “Helen”

We’re launching a new program right now and some of the testing is a back squat 1RM & “Helen.”  We decided to all get together and knock it out in a training session. I hit 475 which is a 20# lifetime best. Super happy with that!  Helen – 9:23, Unbroken, but slow running. All good though. I’m happy to be able to move again. 7/24/16 – PM Training – 10 min Max Cal A/B

So my wife had 10 min max cal A/B in her training and I decided to jump in and join her. I thought it would be a good starting point to measure where I’m at energy system wise. Man it hurt. Got 158 calories. Paced very well and probably too conservative, but I had to because my capacity is really poor right now. I still pushed hard as hell and was buzzed for 2 hours afterwards. 7/23/16 – Chattanooga Meet

Went 2/6 today in the meet. Body felt good. Head felt good, but was just a little out of element. It was a much slower pace than what I was used to in training. I hit both openers, which is great, but missed 2nd attempts and third. Frustrating because those are numbers I’ve hit several times in practice, but I guess that’s just how it goes. Still won my weight class and qualified for the American Open. SN: 130, 135X, 135X C/J: 160, 165X(called on jerk. Rep felt solid), 170X (missed clean). I plan to do a more detailed writeup on the past 3 months of training, and some of my progress. Overall it was a great experience, I got strong as shit, but I think I’m ready to start breathing some...
